Accessibility Statement

How this website was built for access, what is known to fall short, and how to tell us.

Last updated: Placeholder: DATE LAST UPDATED

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Access to the studio and to sessions is covered further down this page.

What has been done

  • Text and background colours meet or exceed the AA contrast ratio, including on the darker green and brown panels.
  • Every page uses semantic HTML with a single main heading and a correct heading order.
  • The whole site can be operated by keyboard, and focus is always visible.
  • Interactive elements have accessible names, and state changes are announced to screen readers.
  • Motion is subtle and switches off entirely when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Body text starts at 17px, and the layout reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320px wide.
  • Form errors are described in words, tied to their field, and explain how to fix the problem.
  • No information is conveyed by colour alone — availability, stock and status all carry text.
  • Images have alternative text describing their content, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.

Known limitations

Being honest about the gaps is more useful than claiming there are none:

  • Every photograph on the site is a real image of Meg's work, and the alternative text describes what is actually in each picture. A small number of images show work in progress or a gallery hang rather than a finished piece; the alternative text says so.
  • Payment and booking are handled by third-party providers whose interfaces are outside our control. Placeholder: CONFIRM ACCESSIBILITY CONFORMANCE OF THE CHOSEN PROVIDERS.
  • Video and audio content has not been added yet. When it is, captions and transcripts will be provided.
  • This site has not yet been tested with assistive technology by disabled users. Placeholder: BOOK USER TESTING BEFORE LAUNCH.

If something about the space would make it difficult, say so when booking. It can usually be arranged.
