Placeholder: LEGAL REVIEW OUTSTANDING — this document is a working draft and must be reviewed before launch.

Shaman Meg collects as little personal information as possible, and only where it is needed to provide a session, fulfil an order, or meet a legal obligation.

This policy covers this website and the services booked through it. It is written to align with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What is collected

Depending on what you do here, the following may be collected:

  • Booking a session: your name, an email address, your chosen session type and time, and anything you volunteer in the optional notes field.
  • Making a purchase: your name, email address, delivery address where a physical item is being sent, and order contents.
  • Making a donation: the amount, and the payment record held by the payment provider.
  • Contacting Meg: your name, email address and message.
  • Newsletter signup: your email address only.

You are never asked for a detailed mental health history through this website, and you should not include one in a form field.

What is not collected

  • Card numbers. Payment details are entered on the payment provider's own secure form and are never stored by this website.
  • Medicare numbers, health records or clinical history.
  • Behavioural advertising profiles. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

Session notes and confidentiality

If Meg keeps notes about a session, they are kept for the purpose of supporting your continued work together, stored securely, and are not shared.

Confidentiality has one main limit, which Meg will explain in your first session: where there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or another person, she may need to involve someone able to help. She will tell you if that happens wherever it is safe to do so.

Donations and privacy

Donation amounts are never published, ranked or attributed. There is no donor wall and no public acknowledgement of any individual gift.

The payment provider holds the transaction record, including your name and card details, because it is legally required to. That record is not anonymous to the provider. Everything within Meg's control is kept private.

Who else can see your information

Information is shared only with the services needed to run the practice:

  • Payment processing: Placeholder: PAYMENT PROVIDER
  • Email delivery for confirmations and receipts: Placeholder: EMAIL PROVIDER
  • Booking and calendar management: Placeholder: BOOKING PROVIDER
  • Website hosting: Placeholder: HOSTING PROVIDER

Your information is never sold, rented or traded.

Cookies

This site uses only the storage it needs to work: your shopping cart is kept in your own browser's local storage so it survives a refresh. It is not sent anywhere and contains no personal information.

If analytics are added later, this section will name the tool and describe how to opt out.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to Placeholder: CONTACT EMAIL and it will be actioned within Placeholder: DATA REQUEST RESPONSE TIME.

Some records must be kept for a period to meet tax and consumer law obligations, and those cannot be deleted on request.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, write to Placeholder: CONTACT EMAIL in the first instance. If the response does not resolve it, you can escalate to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
