Holistic therapy

An hour that does not ask you to have it figured out.

Personal sessions, in person or online, offered by pay-what-feels-right donation. Conversation, creative work, quiet, or whatever combination suits the day.

If you need help urgently

If you are in immediate danger or need urgent help, please contact emergency services or a crisis line rather than waiting for a session.

The approach

How Meg works

Sessions begin with a short question about what you are hoping for, and 'I do not know' is a complete answer to it. From there the session goes wherever it needs to.

Meg's background is in creative practice and holistic wellbeing rather than clinical psychology. That means the work is exploratory and supportive rather than diagnostic. Her qualifications and professional background are set out in full on the About page: Placeholder: MEG'S QUALIFICATIONS.

Nothing is pushed. If a direction is not helping, it gets dropped without discussion.

Inside the hour

What a session may include

  • Conversation

Talking through what is present, at whatever pace suits. Silence is part of it rather than a gap in it.

  • Creative work

Colour, paper, clay or fibre on the table. Used when words are the harder route, not as a reward for finishing the talking.

  • Quiet and reflection

Time set aside to sit with something rather than to solve it.

  • Natural materials

Working with plants, wool, wood and cloth — things with texture and a bit of resistance.

  • Practical support

Small, specific things to try afterwards, only if you want them.

  • Nothing at all

Some sessions are mostly rest. That is a legitimate use of the hour.

Step by step

What to expect

Gallery display shelves holding coiled baskets and bowls
  1. Before

You book a time and share only what you feel like sharing. There is no intake questionnaire about your mental health history.

  2. Arriving

The room is warm and quiet, with tea and materials already out. You do not need to be ready when you walk in.

  3. During

Placeholder: SESSION LENGTH. You can stop, change direction, or sit in silence at any point.

  4. Afterwards

A short note with anything you asked to be sent. Then nothing, unless you get in touch.

Who this may suit

  • People who find formal therapy rooms difficult
  • People who process things better while their hands are busy
  • People who cannot currently afford a set session fee
  • People wanting reflective space alongside other support they already have
  • People who are not in crisis but are not doing especially well either

What this is not

  • This is not clinical treatment and cannot replace it
  • It is not a crisis or emergency service
  • It does not include diagnosis, medication advice, or reports for legal, medical or insurance purposes
  • It is not couples or family therapy

How therapy is paid for

You choose what the session is worth to you.

There is no fixed price for a therapy session. You choose an amount, and that amount does not change the length of the session, the care taken in it, or how soon you can book the next one.

You never need to explain your choice. Meg does not see what you have given until well after the session has finished, and no one else sees it at all.

This exists for one reason: cost should not be what decides whether someone gets support.

Payments are handled by a secure payment provider, which collects the details it needs for card security, receipts and legal compliance. 'Anonymous' means your name and the amount are never displayed publicly or shared beyond what is operationally required — it does not mean the payment provider sees nothing.

Choose your donation

Suggestions only. None of them is expected.

Choose an amount

Choose an amount that feels manageable and fair for you. It will not change the session.

Continue to booking

The amount you choose does not change the session in any way, and you are never asked to explain it. Donations are not tax deductible.

Questions

Frequently asked, about therapy.

What actually happens in a session?

There is no fixed script. Some sessions are entirely conversation. Some are mostly quiet, with materials on the table and talking that happens sideways while hands are busy. Meg will ask what you are hoping for at the start, and it is completely acceptable to answer that you do not know.

Is this the same as seeing a psychologist or counsellor?

No. This is holistic wellbeing support and creative practice. It is not clinical treatment, it does not involve diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for care from a registered health professional. Meg's qualifications and professional background are listed in full on the About page: Placeholder: MEG'S QUALIFICATIONS.

Do I need to be artistic?

No. You do not need to consider yourself creative. Curiosity is enough, and plenty of sessions involve no art materials at all.

How long is a session?

Placeholder: SESSION LENGTH. If a session needs to end early, that is fine and it does not change anything about what you choose to give.

Can sessions happen online?

Yes. Online sessions run over Placeholder: VIDEO PLATFORM and work well for conversation-led sessions. Weaving and messier art work is easier in person, though people do both from home with materials they already own.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes, within limits that Meg will explain at the start of your first session. The main limit is safety: if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, Meg may need to involve someone who can help. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

What if I am in crisis right now?

Please do not wait for a session. Contact emergency services or a crisis line — the numbers are listed on the Therapy page and in the Wellbeing Disclaimer. Meg does not offer an emergency or after-hours service and cannot respond quickly to urgent messages.

Other questions are on the full FAQ page, or you can send Meg a message.

Booking a session

Choose a session type, pick a time, and share as little or as much as you want to in advance. If you would rather ask a question first, a short introductory call costs nothing.
