Looking after it
Frame behind glass and keep out of direct sunlight. Cyanotype is light-sensitive and will fade in a bright window.

About this piece
Cyanotype is a contact process: the plant is placed on coated paper, left in the sun, then washed in water. What you see is the actual shape of what was gathered that morning.
The blue deepens for days after washing, so a print made in spring and a print made in autumn are never quite the same colour.
